Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery At Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery, they make the recovery process after a brain injury, concussion or stroke more hopeful for survivors and their families. They pick up where the healthcare system leaves off, helping survivors continue their journey to recovery after they’ve completed initial rehabilitation. Their skilled staff and generous donors support a community of brave, determined, and capable people who are striving to rebuild their lives. And who just happen to be your friends, neighbors and colleagues. Connection, support, care – that's what they provide. Schurig Center gives survivors and their loved ones a place to gather, to learn, to rehabilitate, and to discuss their challenges and share their triumphs. |

Marin Center for Independent Living's mission is to assist persons with all types of disabilities to achieve their maximum level of sustainable independence as contributing, responsible and equal participants in society. The Marin Center for Independent Living (Marin CIL) was organized by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1979, following the world changing movement for disability rights begun next door in Berkeley in the 1960s. Ed Roberts, together with several other quadriplegic students, called for the opening of the University of California-Berkeley to students with disabilities, and the first curb cuts and ramps were born. |
